We accept almost any variety in fine art media: painting, drawing, photography, prints, sculptures, you name it! You price the art and provide the photographs; we will place it on the website!

An Application Fee of 15 dollars will allow you to maintain ten pieces of art on the website at all times. When one piece sells, we will let you know so you can send in another!

Make a profit.

The commission fee for selling with Vakti Gallery is 65-35; the artist keeps 65 percent of the sale. We work as your advertising company! We push your sales, so you can focus on creating more!

 

What it means to be a Vakti Gallery artist.

  • Pressed LKLD

    Our physical gallery space is at Pressed, an independent bookstore in Lakeland. Pieces will be rotated out and maintain a presence for about 2 months. As a Vakti Gallery artist, at least 4 of your pieces will be displayed at Pressed throughout the year!

  • Online Gallery

    The art on our website is available to visitors from everywhere and can be purchased at any time. As a Vakti Gallery artist, you can have up to 10 available pieces listed on our website. When a piece sells, we will work with you on adding the next piece!

  • Pop-Up Shows

    Throughout the year we will have at least six Pop-Up Shows that display the art of our central Florida artists. Each show takes place at a different location across central Florida. As a Vakti Gallery artist, you will be accepted in at least 4 shows per year!

Application Fee

This one-time fee is the way we know you are interested! We use this fee to cover the cost of adding you to our website and collecting the new paperwork needed on our end. It takes time to add you to our online resources and we want to make sure we do it right!

Annual Fee

This yearly fee is due in the first week of January every year. We want to make sure you are a dedicated part of our Vakti community! Think of this fee as the cost for admission to the FOUR Pop-Up Shows you are guaranteed admittance at every year!

FAQs

 

How will I get paid?

You will be alerted of your sale via email and/or text. At this point, you will schedule a meet for sometime in the next 7 days. We will bring your check in exchange for the artwork. If this is your first sale, you will be asked to complete a W9 form.

Why does the gallery keep 35%?

Vakti Gallery’s commission rate is 65-35. The artist gets 65% of the sale price while the gallery keeps the remaining 35%. Sixty-five percent may not seem like much, but thirty-five percent covers the gallery as your personal advertising company. We spend our work day organizing sales and promoting your art, so you can spend your day creating art, or at your other jobs. The gallery also uses the 35% to cover the cost of Pop-Up Shows and maintaining a physical space at Pressed LKLD.

Can my art be turned down?

Yes. We want to ensure that collectors are buying the best art our city has to offer. While it is disappointing to be turned away, this does not happen often, so we encourage you to submit your art anyway.

Does the art need to be in a frame?

No! That is up to the artist! If you do sell you art in a frame, you can often ask more money for it. Make sure the frame is in at least one picture, and mention the frame in the description.

Can my art be sold out of state?

Yes! While we only allow artists from central Florida, we sell art all across the United States. If your art sells out of state, Vakti Gallery will handle the packaging and shipping.

What is “fine art”?

The definition of art changes constantly. Vakti Gallery is open to the moving concept and is willing to discuss your creative ideas. Overall, we like to think of fine art as something whose intent is for display. Whether the art brings only aesthetic value or carries a heavier weight is up to the artist.

Can I switch the pieces I already have listed on Vakti Gallery with other ones I have?

We are glad you are already a part of our team! If your piece sells through Vakti Gallery, we will work with you to replace it as soon as possible. If your piece sells outside of Vakti Gallery, we can remove the piece but may not be able to replace it until the next rotation period. Every six months (Jan. and July) we will allow artists to replace or rotate any existing pieces with others that they choose to submit.

Is there a shipping/delivery fee?

After you submit your price, Vakti Gallery will build in the Delivery Fee. The collector will see the Total Price, not the distinction between Delivery Fee and the product’s Original Price. Your profit is on the Original Price, not the Total Price. For pieces you price under 100 dollars, the Delivery Fee will be 10 dollars. For pieces you price between 99 and 300, the Delivery Fee will be 30 dollars. Anything priced at 300 or above has a Delivery Fee of 60 dollars.
